Joell Gives Bowling Ball To Afghanistan Team
While competing at the World Bowling Men’s Championships in Hong Kong, Dennis Joell realized the team from Afghanistan came to the event without equipment and were using borrowed balls from a center next door, so the Bermudian bowler purchased another ball, and gave his own ball to the team.
In a post on Instagram, World Bowling said, “Dennis Joell of Bermuda is in Hong Kong competing at the World Bowling Men’s Championships against the best bowlers in the world.
“He chose to buy a new bowling ball to play with at the event but instead of taking his other $200 bowling ball home with him, the ball was regifted to the Afghanistan team who arrived at event with no equipment and were using ‘house balls’ from the public center next to the competition venue.
“It’s moments like these when we realise the power of sport and the friendship it brings,” said Technical Director Marios Nicolaides who aided the switch in equipment.
Great sportsmanship!
That’s what we do. All the best Dennis !!
I literally have tears in my eyes reading this story. This is the type of thing that used to be the norm in Bermuda. Looking out for your fellow man and helping those that need it.
Awesome!

Good for him, well done. We want get many posts for this because it’s not about politics or money or gay marriage. I’m just sayin.
